Road Bro takes care of the admin while you get on with the job. Set up your day’s work as Missions, then just work. It logs every business mile in the background, files every receipt, bill and invoice, keeps track of what’s due to pay, and keeps each job’s documents on your phone, ready on site even with no signal. When your accountant asks, one tidy export sends them the lot.
Built for anyone whose working day runs from job to job: the trades, mobile engineers and mechanics, cleaners, carers, couriers and reps. If you drive for work, Road Bro has your back.
What it does
- Missions for your day’s work: each job’s drives, expenses and site docs in one place
- Every mile, logged for you: no button to press, HMRC rate worked out, swipe each drive Business or Personal
- Every expense, filed: receipts, bills and invoices scanned and sorted as you go
- Bills tracked until they’re paid: see at a glance what you still owe and what’s overdue
- Site docs with no signal: RAMS, drawings and cards open on site, even in a dead spot
- One tap to your accountant: mileage, expenses and every receipt photo, already organised
- Help when you’re stuck: RoadBot, our help assistant, answers questions about the app straight away, any time
- Private: records stay on your iPhone. No account, no ads.
What it looks like
What you see is what you get. The app as it is, with demo jobs and figures.
How it works
Set up your day’s work as Missions. Then just drive. Road Bro logs each route in the background with the phone locked, and shows a quiet lock-screen card while a drive is recording.
In the evening, swipe drives left for Personal or right for Business, and tap to file them against a job. An evening’s bookkeeping in a couple of minutes.
When the accountant asks, go to Settings › Export and pick a quarter, a tax year, or everything. You get one file containing:
- mileage.csv: every drive, with the HMRC claim worked out per trip
- expenses.csv: every receipt, bill and invoice, totalled, showing what’s paid and what’s owed
- a receipts folder: a copy of every receipt photo in one place, named to line up with the spreadsheet
- a folder per job: its site documents and notes
- an Accountant’s Note: plain English — the headline numbers and a guide to what’s in the file
Hand it over. Job done.
Mileage that holds up
Drives are timestamped as they happen. On a GPS-tracked drive the date, the times and the mileage are fixed — you cannot nudge them after the fact, which is what makes the log worth something if HMRC ever asks.
Mileage is worked out at HMRC’s Approved Mileage Allowance rates for the tax year the drive falls in: 55p for the first 10,000 business miles and 25p after that for 2026/27, and the earlier rates for earlier years.
Road Bro is a record-keeping tool, not tax advice. What you can actually claim depends on your circumstances. Check your return with your accountant.
Snap it. Sorted.
Point the camera at a receipt, bill or invoice and Road Bro does the reading for you.
- Reads it for you: the shop name, the total and the date, filled in before your phone is back in your pocket. Multi-page invoices scan as one
- Gets the name right: it learns the suppliers you use, and if you’ve just driven to a Costa, the receipt comes out as Costa Coffee, not a line of till-roll gibberish
- Files it properly: pick the category your accountant needs, and once you’ve chosen the same one twice for a supplier, Road Bro remembers it. Anything not yet categorised is flagged, so nothing goes over as a guess. VAT registered? Switch it on in Settings and you get a VAT box on every expense
Site docs
- Keep your standing docs on Home Base (CSCS card, PASMA, driving licence): add them once and they’re ready on every job
- Add each job’s own docs to its Mission (RAMS, design drawings, site photos)
- Arrive on site, tick your RAMS and AirDrop them straight to the site manager, or send them by WhatsApp or email if they’re not on iPhone. Files come in just as easily, shared into a job from anywhere on your phone
Works with your accountant
Road Bro captures and organises. It does not try to do your books, and that is deliberate.
Your accountant checks it through and handles the VAT and what is actually claimable. That is the part that needs a qualified eye — VAT on expenses is fiddly and getting it wrong is expensive — so Road Bro leaves the judgement to the professional and hands them clean, complete records to work from, instead of a carrier bag of faded receipts.
For you: no shoebox, no separate receipt-capture add-on, and an evening’s admin done in minutes. For them: tidy data and less chasing. That is the whole idea: Road Bro does the capture, your accountant does the clever bit.
What it costs

Privacy, honestly
Road Bro keeps your records on your iPhone. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and your records never go to a server of ours.
A few things do leave the phone, and none of them carry your records:
- A finished drive’s route shape goes to our mapping provider to be matched to the road network, so the mileage is right
- A drive’s start and end points go to Apple to be turned into a place name
- Maps you look at load their images from our mapping provider (its usage tracking is switched off)
- Addresses you type are looked up by Apple
- The app asks the App Store whether there’s a newer version
- If you use RoadBot, only the questions you type go through our server to Anthropic’s Claude AI to be answered, and they aren’t kept
No name, no account, no missions, no receipts, no tax figures.
