“When nothing else works, reach for the Silver Bullet. I built it because I needed it.”

Who I am, and why Silver Bullet® exists
I’m Chris Pitts. I’ve spent my working life in signs and large-format graphics, and the last 14 years specialising in printed murals. I’m Muraspec trained, and over the years I’ve refined my own installation method. Hundreds of installs with near-zero call-backs says it works. Buy direct and that know-how is yours: good guidance on everything from survey and artwork through to the crucial wall prep and a snag-free install.
Every installer dreads the call-back. Mine came early: a school in Wales, one of my first mural jobs, seams lifting not long after I’d left. The wall was the culprit. Water from the paste got into fragile paint, the surface gave way, and the print went with it. No standard primer gave me confidence it would stop that happening. So I set out to make my own: a silver bullet primer for problem walls.
I still supply and install bespoke printed murals for a handful of long-standing clients through Decor Elevate Ltd, my company in Leeds. But Silver Bullet®, our product brand, is where my focus is heading. Pro Wall Primer comes first, with more on the way, each one made to sort a problem I’ve met on real jobs. One chance to get it right
Nearly every install I’ve done across the country, I’ve done on my own, including murals up to 15 metres high. People are surprised by that, but with the right method, working solo is often less stressful than a two-person job.
A bespoke print gives you one chance. Splice a join wrong and you can’t just cut another length off the roll, because there isn’t another roll. There’s no get-out-of-jail card. That’s why the wall has to be right before the first drop goes up, and it’s the method I’ll share with you when you buy direct. The method gets you most of the way. The rest is practice: hang a few test walls until you’re confident, before you go anywhere near a client’s.
It’s not really about the primer
Most of the jobs I’ve been called to rescue didn’t go wrong at the paste stage. They went wrong long before that: artwork set up badly, the wrong material for the surface, a print that was never going to sit flat, or a wall nobody looked at properly before anyone started hanging.
So the advice isn’t limited to what’s in the container. Ask me about any of it:
- Artwork setup, image resolution, bleed, drop matching and scaling
- Choosing material for the surface you’ve actually got
- Reading a wall: what needs filling, sealing, or leaving alone
- Hanging, trimming and the mistakes that catch people out
What comes with every order
- Advice on the end of an email. Free, for as long as you’re using it. Email me, or send a photo of a wall you’re not sure about, and I’ll tell you what I’d do with it.
- You get me, not a call centre. There’s no technical department here. Just one bloke who’s done the job himself, and he answers his own email.
- Honest answers, including “don’t.” If the primer isn’t right for your wall, I’ll say so and tell you what is. A container used in the wrong place does me more harm than one I never sold.
Why I bother
I know how much of this trade is learned the hard way, and how little of it is written down anywhere useful. So I’m not willing to hand over a container and walk away. If you get a perfect finish, you order again and you tell somebody. That’s the whole business plan.
